Accountant

Term:

One year maternity replacement beginning mid to late July 2007.

Overall Responsibilities:

The Accountant provides support to the Controller. This person will effectively perform the day-to-day accounting functions including but not limited to AR, AP, and Payroll. The Accountant also assists in IT, HR, and serves as reception back up.

Key Objectives:

• Handles all aspects of AR from invoice generation including preparation of daily reports, to follow up of accounts.
• Balances daily cash receipts and prepares deposits.
• Handles all aspects of AP from entering vendor invoices to performing payment batches.
• Handles all aspects of Payroll including maintenance of group benefits plans.
• Maintains commissionable sales reports for Sales Reps.

Position Requirements:

The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary education with a specialization in Accounting. Knowledge using Windows, Microsoft Word and Excel is essential. Experience using Ceridian's Insync payroll software and Visual Manufacturing software considered an asset. Success in this position will require you to be well organized, detail oriented, possess good interpersonal and problem solving skills, along with excellent data entry skills. Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment, ability to learn new tasks quickly and accurately and the ability to work with minimal supervision would be considered an asset.
